DO YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ?
It is very simple to sit down and write an article with whatever spin one wants to put on it. That goes for newspapers as well as this site. So why should you read further; a fair question? When anything is investigated, the first thing sought is a motive. Let us examine what motive Israel and the Palestinians may have had.
ISRAEL: Their only possible motive was to prevent arms and munitions from reaching Hamas through the Gaza. The first responsibility of any government is to protect its citizens. With the goal of Hamas being the destruction of Israel, Israel is on the defensive daily. International law allows Israel to have any ship headed for Gaza to dock in one of their ports, for inspection of the cargo they are carrying.
Five of the six ships in the flotilla did this. Five of the ships did this, the sixth did not. We have all seen Israeli soldiers dropping down onto the ship from a helicopter. The soldiers were "armed with paint ball guns. The soldiers were "armed" with paint ball guns, and were met by an angry mob of "peace loving" men that were "humanitarians'" that pummeled them with pipes and knives. They even threw a solder overboard. Please remember, this was all in accordance with lnternational law.
THE PALESTINIANS: Wanting to "destroy Israel" is the number one goal of Hamas. Is there a motive more important than that? On ship number six, a large cache of weapons was found; does this sound like humanitarian aid? When you speak of a government's first responsibility being to protect its citizens; how can this be accomplished when the government is really a terrorist organization?
With billions of dollars in aid; what positive has been accomplished in Palestinian controlled land since its inception? Why are relief camps still necessary?
The Press and the UN have made up their minds withouts reviewing the facts. Israel is always condemned for any act it takes. See one mans opinion (with facts) of the United Nations. http://www.jorgeluisgonzalo.com/commentary_files/Uni ted%20Nations.pdf SO TELL ME WHICH SIDE HAS ANYTHING TO GAIN FROM THIS SITUATION?
