The Best Pizzerias in Sacramento, CA

California’s Capital City, Sacramento has a rich and diverse history.  Founded during the beginning stages of the California Gold Rush, Sacramento became home to thousands of people from around the world.  With these people from every corner of the globe, came a great tradition of food that Sacramento is well known for.  And there is no better example of Sacramento’s diversity and cultural tradition than pizza.  Sacramento is home to some great pizzerias that are as diverse as the people themselves.

Zelda’s

Zelda's Original Gourmet Pizza is located in downtown Sacramento on 21st Street.  Zelda’s offers Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza made to order to the buyer’s own specifications.  Zelda’s offers hundreds of ingredients that are fresh. They also offer very creative pizzas including a pesto pizza and a spinach pizza.  More importantly, Zelda’s offers their great pizza in a great atmosphere and at a great low price.

Steve’s Pizza

Steve’s Pizza stated in 1978 in Davis, California and soon word spread around the rural Davis community of the great pizza they serve.  Steve’s Pizza now has locations throughout the Sacramento Region but it commitment to great value is the same.  Steve‘s offers a normal pizza but there is nothing normal about the pizzas they deliver.  Their ingredients are fresh and they are not at all skimpy with their allocations on your pie.  For dining in, take out or delivery, Steve’s is always a good choice.

Paesanos

Paesanos has been voted best Pizzeria in the Sacramento area by the Sacramento News & Review and has won numerous awards for their pizza and pasta dishes.  Paesanos is located in midtown Sacramento and offers and fun atmosphere with a great bar and great food.  While a little pricier than your neighborhood pizza place, Paesanos offers interesting combinations and has a great menu of Italian dishes to boot. 

For instance, you could try the Caribbean pizza which is a pizza made of Jerk Chicken, roasted peppers, pineapple and cilantro.  Or one could try the Sicilian Pizza filled with Italian meats.  Or if you want something very festive, you could try the “Mex” L.T. that has Chorizo, garlic, and fresh chopped lettuce.

Sacramento offers some great pizzerias and the best part is the list is too long to include in a single piece.  On almost every block in the Sacramento region, there is a great place to enjoy a great pizza pie.
