Complexion 101: How to achieve flawless skin

Unlike supermodels and actresses, we do not have permanent airbrushing for those days when we don’t quite look our best. The skin is our largest organ; it’s no wonder than so many people strive to achieve flawless skin. Fortunately, there are ways to achieve a flawless complexion without airbrushing. Following is a guide to putting your best face forward.

Create a Cleansing Regimen

First and foremost, you will need to create a routine to keep your skin clean and well cared for. Begin by washing your face twice daily with a water-based facial cleanser. If you wear makeup, make sure that you remove every last trace of cosmetics before even thinking about getting in bed. Sleep is your skin’s time to rejuvenate itself and skin cannot breathe efficiently beneath a layer of cosmetics. After cleansing the face, dab a water-based toner across your face and throat. Toner is excellent because it returns the skin’s ph balance to normal and effectively softens the skin. Make sure that you select a toner free from alcohol. Toners containing alcohol have a tendency to dry out the skin. Lastly, you will need to apply a daily moisturizer to your skin. Simply dab moisturizer on your face and rub it in using your ring fingers. Avoid applying moisturizer in your oiler areas.

Eliminate Blemishes

Sadly, blemishes are just an unsightly reality in life. Nearly everyone gets them from time to time. When a blemish first makes its appearance on your face, fight the temptation to pick at it. Never squeeze a blemish unless it is ready, otherwise you could scar your face. A blemish is ready to be squeezed when it no longer hurts. Always squeeze a blemish with the pads of your fingers as opposed to your nails. After draining a blemish, wash the area thoroughly and dab a blemish fighting cream to the area. You can find such a product at your local drugstore.

Eliminate Blackheads

Blackheads are unsightly little clogged pores that are dark in appearance. Fortunately, there are a few ways to rid yourself of blackheads. After taking a warm shower, while your skin is softest and your pores are open, try gently squeezing the infected areas to see how many blackheads you can force out of your pores. For the ones that still don’t budge, try scrubbing the region with epsom salt and warm water before attempting to remove blackheads.

Overall, achieving flawless skin is not overly expensive or time-consuming. Everyone deserves the opportunity to greet the world wearing their best possible complexion.
