How not controlling your temper affects your career

When you are at work, you need to have a level temper because you have to be a professional whenever you are at the workplace. Whatever your job task is, you need to be able to associate with people in a mature and professional way at all times. This is so that you can get your job done the best way you know how and because it will allow others to work with you without fearing a hostile workplace.

I have seen hotheads in the workplace and it is never fun to work with them. Sometimes they are even good guys, but then something sets them off and they just starting spraying cuss words like there is no tomorrow. The problem with this is that you never know when to approach these people, and if you are a customer it isn't going to cause you to want to come back.

If you are labeled as someone who has a hard time controlling their anger it won't be a good thing because that label is going to stay with you. A manager that you have worked with in the past is almost obligated to point this out if called by another company because this is something that is needed for safety of others. How can you say someone is a great worker if they are liable to go off on you any second?

Being a hothead is something that will effect the basic aspects of your career even if you are fired. Who is going to promote someone who has a history of being loud or likes to intimidate others? It also means you won't have the respect of the other employees and you will not be able to get them to help you out when it comes to anything relating to your career progress.

Your temper needs to be under control at all times because someone who is not able to control their temper is not a professional. If you can't deal with a customer in a calm manner it doesn't bode well for you. Customer service is all about faking it when angry and being as professional and courteous as possible at all times. There is no room for someone who wants to blow up everytime the job gets hard.

If you want to move up in your career, you need to be able to focus and not blow up at people. It doesn't help you, it doesn't help the company and it won't do you any favors as you try to move up in your career. Just be calm and everything will end up OK.
