The creative role of the entrepreneur in economic theory

The rising popularity of entrepreneurship as a career can be attributed to a lot of factors like the economic stability of a particular home country, the challenge, the lucrative financial opportunities and the freedom from corporate slavery that entrepreneurship offers.

In addition, entrepreneurship also is not just advantageous to the entrepreneur but as well as the whole economy of a country.

Entrepreneurs whether large or small-scale play a vital role in macroeconomics, a country's overall economic status. Instead of working as employees in 9-5 jobs, five times a week, entrepreneurs self-employ and carved out opportunities not just for themselves but for other people as well.

The following are some of significant benefits that entrepreneurs contribute to the country's economy.

1) Entrepreneurs aren't a Burden

First and foremost benefit that entrepreneurship brings to the economy is the fact that they do not enlist themselves to the ever-growing unemployed list. Instead of stalling at government labor agencies, entrepreneurs take the initiative to find opportunities for themselves. They are born leaders, thus, they took charge in precarious economic moments.

2) Entrepreneurs are Providers

Aside from the fact that they do not depend on corporations and government agencies for their own living, entrepreneurs by establishing businesses provide jobs. In turn, helping the economy by contributing to the decrease of unemployment rates.

Private business entities run by entrepreneurs account for more than half of a country's business firms. Hence, the private business sector provides a great majority of the jobs available. More so, entrepreneurs work together with the government in ensuring that there are enough jobs to accommodate job seekers.

3) Entrepreneurs are Producers

Conventional wisdom seems to suggest that the government itself cannot produce the substantial amount of goods and services to satisfy the nation's unlimited wants and needs. This is where, the role of entrepreneurs come to play. Entrepreneurs produce and supply a great portion of a country's goods and services.

Entrepreneurs maintain the economic stability of a country by producing products that will theoretically counter the effects of inflation. More supply means less increase in prices of goods and services.

4) Entrepreneurs Fund Government Expenditures

It may sound pretty deceptive but the truth is entrepreneurs and their businesses account for at least half of income taxes while their employees also account for a portion of income and community taxes. In a simpler perspective, entrepreneurs fund government expenditures.

They contribute heavily to the growth and development of the country in terms of public works and human resource through education. The same growth and development will result into a more viable option for multinational corporations to invest in the country. Hence, generating more jobs, products and taxes - repeating the cycle again and again.
