The title of your article can draw your readers into what your writing but the content is important too. In this article we’ll examine both the title and the content of an article and show you how to grab your readers attention with your words.
Making a Great Title
The title of your piece should explain what your writing about in clear terms and if the piece is generic you should have some type of slant to it so in other words you need a title that stands out. For example if you’re a guitar teacher you might write an article called “How to Teach Guitar.” This is a good title but if you have a slant it can be even better. You could write “How To teach Guitar to Children” which would be a title with a slant. If its even more generic and you just want to reach a general audience it could be “How to be the Best Guitar Teacher Possible” or something similar that draws the reader into your article. The title can make or break your article so spend some time crafting it.
The Opening Paragraph
Once you have a great title it’s time to craft the opening paragraph. This part of your article is very important because it will keep people reading or turn them off. In the paragraph you need to summarize what you are going to say or give them an incentive to keep reading. How will the article help them? If you can involve people and create emotions in the opening paragraph that can provide an emotional connection for people to keep reading your article. Try to make the opening the best it can be which is very important if you plan to sell the article to magazine or other publication.
The Middle
You have more freedom in the middle of your article but you should strive to describe points as fully as possible. Make sure dates, names, places, financial data and s on is as accurate as possible and be sure to double and triple check everything. Your paragraphs shouldn’t be too long and you need to stick to your main point in each paragraph. Don’t ramble off topic when you write because readers won’t be able to follow you and your piece won’t make sense to them.
End
Once your ready to end your article you should summarize the article or draw attention to the main points you feel complete the article. So for example if your writing about the best exercise routines you could summarize each routine at the bottom of the piece and then conclude your article.
Conclusion
Writing great articles starts with a title that draws the reader into your piece and keeps them reading through the first paragraph which tells the reader why they should read the piece in the first place. The middle of the article describes all your points and fleshes out the detail of the article. The end of the article summarizes what you have said and draws attention to main points in the piece. A good article is a title, beginning, middle and end. When you write in this way you will have articles that will keep your readers interested in what you have to say.
