Rejection is something that no one wants to experience, its makes us feel like a failure, often times causing us to throw our hands in the air and say forget it. Rejection can also be embarrassing when the rejection happens in front of an audience such as a classroom, or in a business meeting of some sort, believe me I have had that happen several times in my life and it literally made me want to crawl in a hole somewhere and hope and pray to god no one will find me, but as you may already know there is no room to feel self pity for ourselves or go and hide under a rock, because the moment we do we will surely find ourselves in a predicament that we don't want to be in.
So how do we prevent rejection from having a negative effect on the way we do things in our lives, or prevent it from destroying our self esteem to the point of where we are never going to accomplish anything in life and to where we consider ourselves a failure. First we need to realize that rejection is defiantly going to take in our life at one point in time or another, and so we need to prepare ourselves for it. Fortunately I have a few things that just might help you conquer rejection.
One way I overcome rejection is that I realize that I am only human, I am not perfect and I am going to make mistakes, which that is how we learn because its the mistakes that we need to work on in order to insure that we don't make it again. Second I also know there are things that I can do better than others, like I also know there are some things that others are better at than me. Third I also try remember a very old saying that has stuck with through out the years, and that's if you want something bad enough then go get, if you fall, get up and dust yourself off, and try again , or in more simple terms, practice makes perfect.,I have found that that saying really has a meaning in my life, and has helped me remember so many times why I started the very task that was just rejected, but upon remembering I shook off those unwanted embarrassing feeling and went at the task again but with a total different approach, and in the long run I succeeded at accomplishing my goal.
I wish I could guarantee these techniques will work for you, all I can say is they have helped me overcome a lot of rejections in my life. most people who know me say I have a very strange way of doing things, but I don't think so. I am just a human who like any one else is trying to make it in this cruel hard world, where rejection is part of the icing on a cake, that needs to be spread evenly on all sides to make it stand out. I hope that this at least gives someone an idea on how to help cope with rejection before it destroys the confidence that lingers inside of you, and to prevent you from running and hiding under that rock . Remember to get what you want out of life you have to work and sometimes it seems impossible, but remember with dedication to the goal you have set out to accomplish all things are possible and nothing will be able to stand in your way not even the word no..
