The best computer for a writer is more or less a matter of personal preference than which is or is not better. But if I had to choose I would say the best one for my writing experiences have been PC's. I like the flexibility and the compatibility that PCs offer. To me they have not been unreliable. For example I wrote both a novel and a play on one of my little net-books. I also have been using PCs all my life and when it comes to macs the keyboards seem to be really small and cramped and you can not really upgrade the macs either so if you want more hard drive space for example with a mac you have to go out and buy a new one with a bigger hard drive.

In addition another thing I like about PCs is the wiring on the back is all color coded and so is the place they go into. On a mac you have all the same white Ipod charger looking wires and lettering so small that you can not even see it unless you are behind the computer which you rarely are unless you take all of the wires out.

But, even though it may seem like I hate macs I don't .Macs,in my opinion are better for graphical things like 3D art,3D modeling, applications that write music.PCs seem,in my opinion to be better for non technical things because of all of the support that they offer. In both hardware and software. I have used a mac and when I did like I said before a few of the things that had stood out as being a negative was the non upgrade friendly aspect to them, the mouse (I personally think the mac mouse is the dumbest looking creation that apple came out with,I mean it is all one button with a scroll wheel that is more of a scroll ball and it's so tiny it breaks your fingers), and the keyboard which is really small and tiny and for my fingers hard to use.

In conclusion, in my opinion the better computer for a writer to me is the PC.It offers support, a mouse you can use and a keyboard you can type on. Furthermore it offers the ability to be upgraded as well.
