If you find that you just can not trust your partner, the most important thing is to take some time off for yourself to be alone. It may be easy to try to blame your lack of trust on your partner's actions, but the answer lies within yourself. This period of solitude is crucial so that you can have the emotional and physical space to really reflect and meditate on your situation.

Is there a specific reason that you do not trust him? If there is a specific reason for your inability to trust your partner, you both need to sit down and discuss the event that caused this incapability to trust him. If he did something that hurt you or made you feel betrayed you need to tell him. Communicate calmly and efficiently and perhaps through conversation you can begin to gain a better understanding on what his intentions are with your relationship. In addition, it offers him the opportunity to give you insight on why he did what he did to make you not trust him. If he lied to you, were you offering a secure, trusting environment for him to be open and honest with you? If not, then consider the effects that your behavior has on him.

Has your trust been broken in the past? If your trust has been broken by past relationships, it is completely normal to be guarded against new relationships that could potentially follow suit. Are you afraid of having your trust broken again? If you are afraid that this will happen, reevaluate your fears. How possible or likely would this be? What is the worst that could happen? Sometimes, imagining the worst possible situations can mentally prepare us by giving us time to reflect on how we would handle such situations. This assessment can build confidence in our abilities to persevere and overcome even the most painful and challenging of all obstacles.

If you have had your trust broken in the past, consider the reasons why your partner is different. You must ask yourself this question in order to get a better understanding of what you think and feel about your partner. If you truly feel as strongly as you would about someone who could be a successful partner, then there must be something about him that sets him apart from the men you have dated in the past. Try to focus on what makes him different and sets him apart from the rest of the "cheating men." If you can't think of anything, then reevaluate what you've been attracted to in your past relationships. Does it make sense to date the same "kind" of man with the idea that there will be a different outcome in your relationship?

Truly take time for yourself to consider these difficult questions. However, do not try to put off or delay the time required to organize your thoughts and attempt to understand them. If you continue a relationship with no trust, there are severe consequences that could cause permanent damage in your potentially successful relationship.
