Poetry: I hate that I love you

by John Boos

Created on: May 30, 2010

Once loved without compare,

now struggling to live with the pain,

driven through my soul like a stake,

still my heart beats for you,

longing to hold you body to me,

knowing only the suffering you put me through,

I hate my weakness unable to let you go,

needing your twisted love to still feel complete,

my heart aches trying to forget you, but loving you for even the greater pain you cause,

you tell me your honest feelings. My heart shatters knowing you never did love me the way you claimed,

but deep within my twisted soul I despair as I know I cannot let you go,

the day I said I love you was the day I gave myself to you,

my fractured spirits bleeds tears of my spirit,

wishing I could give you up within my heart,

I hate you for all the ways you manipulated me and shattered my love,

yet I love you until the end of time,

I love you
