There are definitely architectural elements to quality articles. Just like with a beautiful and well-built structure, writing requires a plan. Having a shape in mind before the actual construction begins is a necessity, so that the article or text does not wander and does lead the reader to a point.

Additionally, a foundation comes first. We should not be writing about things that we have no knowledge of; we should not BS our way through an article. We have to get a foundation of knowledge and experience so that we can write authoritatively on a subject.

Furthermore, any article or text we write must needs have a frame before we fill in the walls. Building that frame on our foundation of knowledge is also a must.

Finally, our knowledge of syntax, grammar, punctuation, and word-smithing will round out the article inside the framework we have already erected. So sure, there are architectural elements to good articles.
