Release
My mind - it travels;
My eyes feel blind.
Can’t see the present -
Just what’s left behind.
Taking a journey
Deep into the past,
Where love did reign -
Storm clouds were cast.
No matter the bliss,
We loved and let go.
No matter the tears,
It had to be so.
We had to move on.
I tried to escape.
It just didn’t work;
Your love was a cape.
I left my homeland.
I fled with fright.
You still chased me
Through every night.
The sleep I lost;
The tears I shed.
Oh, the heartache;
My soul - it bled.
As one year passed
And another crept in...
To hear your voice -
A recurring dream.
Alas! I’ve been set free...
