How to develop a global business?

The job of taking a local business to the world stage, and satisfy millions of customers, is indeed a challenging one, and requires excellent and versatile leadership, staffing, vision, effective project management, market penetration strategies, quality budgetary management skills, being socially responsible, cultural awareness, a transnational mindset, a competitive spirit, and the motivation to keep going despite operational challenges.

A look at the internationally successful Rolling Stone Band, which started out as a local band, but by the1990’s, was considered a transnational business, crossing the globe several times every year, and generating billions of dollars, while satisfying millions of fans; will reveal all the qualities present and prospective aspirants could emulate, and possible achieve the same levels of success.

 Business Deals

The band turned business was able to enter business deals with entities like Microsoft, Pepsi, Coco Cola, Shell, and Google, while engaging on tours all over the world. While on bands, may focus on selling records, and maximizing revenues at the gates, Rolling Stones went further, and secure million dollars advertising and promotions deals from these companies.

Staffing

The revenues generated from all these streams, as well as that from the rights, and other merchandising deals were adequate to acquire and pay the quality human resources, necessary to fulfill its mission and purpose. The staffing includes band members, accountants, financial executives, tour manger, business manager, immigration staff, and banker, all of which travel together as one unit, to deal with all the impacting variables that they might face at any one time.
