We can all dislike people for many different reasons;sometimes we think they're out right fake, phony, stuck up, kiss ups, irritating, self centered, egotistical, racists, chauvinistic, disgusting or painfully obnoxious, the list can go on and on. Even if your feelings aren't listed in the aforementioned and you happen to dislike someone for no apparent reason, remember subliminally there really is a reason why you don't like them. Trust me!
Ask yourself why this is true over and over until you reach the real reason behind it. There is a reason why you're feeling this way and you need to bring this to your attention before flying off the handle without knowing your true intentions for disliking that person.
However, at the same time if we know these people will need to be around us, we need to know how to be disciplined and controlled while preparing ourselves mentally to display positive behavior when we're around them. Granted, people know the right buttons to push sometimes whether in grocery store lines, movie theatres, or fast food restaurants. But we need to be the bigger person(s) and do the right thing, the mature thing!
How we control our anger can make all the difference in the world. This is something we have to work on by always remembering a cardinal rule “never let anyone rule your world”. If someone has the ability to piss you off in any way, shape or form then that person has some sort of power/control over you.
A lot of us don't need much to be pushed past that boiling point and for very few of us, it might take longer to upset us. But the point is to challenge ourselves by learning to control our emotions when it comes to how we're feeling about someone else.
Confront ourselves when it comes to the way that we express our feelings towards someone we find objectionable. Acting cordial while being around the people we dislike is not considered to be phony, fake or just not "keeping it real". Keeping it real takes place when we have dealings with people we like and those we don't.
Keeping it real is to act in a way that we are not expected to react to those who are testing and toying with us with their foolishness. Always keep in mind that life is one big test! It would do us some good to continue challenging ourselves knowing that there is a reason for it all. A reason to be kind, positive, merciful and nice to others!
Dare your characters, test your personality's, honor your values, remember your morals, and consider your disciplines because virtually everything is on the line.
Are you a person that can get along with anyone or is there a "special group" of individuals that fit into the small box that you've subjected yourself into? We have to remember to respect ourselves first and then we can respect the characters and differences of others. Nobody is perfect, so let us try to embrace one another as we can truly see how different God has made us all. In the end we are all striving to get to the same place in life and disliking or hating someone is not a stepping stone but a pothole. SO, BE CAREFUL & BE BLESSED!
