There has been times in my life when I'm alone and I question myself and ask, "Why me LORD? What have I done to deserve the heartbreaks, the disappointment, the let downs, the insecurities and hurt. Do I attract these things or am I being molded for something much larger than I can imagine?" I've heard it said in this way, 'there's calm before the storm'. In my case, the storm is over and I am looking for my calm. Not to say that there aren't a few more storms that are forth coming, I will not lay claim to them. My life, to me, matters because there are some of you, like me, have families that need us and we need them. We can be the rock, the Medea's and the Grandpa's that are the stability in their lives. No matter how old I grow and no matter how old that child gets to be, I am still their mother. When living alone as we grow older and have lived the best we know how, our lives still matters. In many ways, it has just begun. And even though the responsibility has dwindled, there is still a need for wisdom, for advice and just the plain old lend me an ear. Even though I am alone within myself, there is so much more I have to give and after going through a series of good and bad times, my life matters to someone who will need me. You should NEVER give up on anything, regardless of the circumstances. That's the way life tells us to be strong and to put up a good fight. If no one else needs you, YOU need you. You can be of service to someone outside your realm sanctity. You are all that you have because we all came into being alone, not knowing our mothers or our fathers and in the end we will leave alone. But in between time, we matter to ourselves. What we make of the life we were given is what really matters. Each of us has a connection with each other. As I write this article, someone who is a total stranger to me, will read these words that are my thoughts and we will never meet physically but mentally, we shared this topic. They say 'pay it forward'. Well, when we really think about life, we are connected in more ways than we dream of. That is why all of our lives matter. Without Grimley in Ohio, Smith in Florida may not have made it through surgery or Dietrick in Wisconsin who has a farm and grows his crops, without his hard work, Stewart in California could not eat. So there are many examples why, not only my life, but yours and all others should matter to the fullest. It should be simple to you and me: our lives matters because it's like infinity, I touch, you touch.
