I became a parent at age 17. I had been married for a year when I had my first son. I thought I was ready but the truth is, I really was not. Neither of us were. We did not understand the full importance of being a good parent and everything a baby needs. We have come along just fine and now we have two beautiful children. we try to be the best parents that we can be and give our children all that we can. If I could advise someone who is as young as I was and wanting to have a baby, I would say Not yet.. You think you are ready, but the truth is you aren't. Wait just a few more years, mature and grow up just a little bit more. When you have children everything suddenly becomes about them and your just left in the shadows. I think a lot of teenagers aren't ready for that because a lot of teens are sooo self involved that they won't take time out to take care of a baby's every need. They are a fulltime job with NO exceptions.
