Have you ever seen the movie "Conspiracy Theory" with Julia Roberts and Mel Gibson? If not, then you just won't understand.
In my media class, there has been this student who is much older than the rest of us. She totes around this 40 lb. bag full of spiral notebooks and loose leaf papers. She often reminds me of those "Bing" commercials you see on television. The ones about the search engines:
Lady #1: (Eating food) We really need to find a new place for breakfast.
Lady #2: The Breakfast Club, a 1986 Cult classic, starring members of the Brat Pack.
Lady #1: What?
Or:
Dad: (In a television store); So, do you want an LED or Plasma?
Son: Plasma is a gas in which a certain portion of the particles are ionized...
(Okay so you get the picture. She chooses one word from a sentence that you say, and goes off on her own tangent about science and conspiracy).
I find her deliciously interesting in a way that only a tweaked mind can. So last night, we were partnered together to complete a logo.
After a while, she opens up and begins talking to me about her invitation to speak with the Associated Press, the flouridation conspiracy, the H1N1 and how it was originally the HRN1 back in the 70's. It was a biological weapon of complacency that was to be introduced into the general public drinking supply.....but then Viet Nam came to an end.
Now her train of thought is not for the meek and mild. If you are person who chooses the easiest and most likely scenario.....then her company will never compliment yours.
So here is the interesting part. I looked at her and said "I believe you". She literally fell apart. She went to her 40 lb. bag and pulled out documents and papers, legal filings, and patents. She laid them out on a table. "45 years of research is right here, in this bag. I'm afraid "They will come and steal it".
"Did you know that in the 60's, we shrunk a tumor the size of a grapefruit, down to the size of a marble in less than 48 hours? The cure is out there! But pharmaceutical companies don't want the general public to know about it"......(She produced documents)
She was speaking incredibly fast. I think she didn't want to lose my attention. (Why me? you ask. I write and edit. She cannot spell all that well . Her specialty is genomes and ALL things scientific. She is a researcher.)
"I am working on a non-profit project. I'll give you 1/3 of the funding and half the credit if you put this all in words that the general public can understand".
She wants us to use a pen name so "THEY don't find us".
I just looked at her and said "(Her name here), Fate loves the Fearless. If you believe in what you want me to write, don't be afraid. You need to let people know that you believe in it so much, that you are willing to risk "Them" coming after you".
Is she so brilliant that she is clinically insane? Oh yes. But so was Einstein. She really does have a beautiful mind and I really AM looking forward to reading into it. I really do believe that she believes it, and that is enough for me.
She has been told she was crazy her whole life. It just so happens, that I LOVE crazy! And I think this is gonna be amazing!
I'm thinking of titling it "Operation Human Experiment". I think she will LOVE that.
