Going back to school, after being out of school for many years, or decades, takes a tremendous amount of courage, and self confidence to start school again, but there are many advantages to it as well. You may find a college program that fits nicely into your skill set, and even into your passion, and once you get the degree in this field, whether the field is business, nursing, accounting, child care, engineering, or something else. The most difficult part of going back to school, is making sure that you show up on that first day or night of your class, the beginning sets the stage of being successful in school. You can do it. Just give it a try. Here some ideas to succeed.
My student's success story.
I went back to school later in life, I entered the military after high school, and after leaving in three years, I decided I would go back to school to help get a good job or career. I majored in Business Education, and I started teaching business education in a community college. One of my students Helene, was in my Marketing class, and was working hard to accomplish your assignments, and tried very hard to learn the material.
Helene stopped coming to class, and about a year later, I got a call from her, that she wanted to make up the material, take all required tests and papers so she could get credit for the class. I agreed to send he all the information will the details of the required work, in the letter, I told Helene, that if she had any questions, or problems with the work, to contact me for any help. Helene finished up the work, and she passed the class with flying colors. That was a number of years ago, I have seen Helene in town occasionally, and I heard she was again back to school to get her degree.
I recently found out that this spring Helene will graduate from a major college with a Nursing degree, and start working in this field, within the next few weeks. Helene was an adult student, a mother of two children, and a wife, and continued to study and learn, so she would be able to fulfill her dream of getting a college degree, the very first one in her family.
On your first date, set the tone for your success.
Successful students begin to plan the first day of class, get good class notes, try to avoid purring off the reading, and assignments, start the assignments right away, and pass them in on time. Treat your schooling
