Poetry: Drop dead gorgeous

by Bob Mundle

Created on: May 25, 2010

Snub nosed, pot bellied, bald, badly dressed;

Oh, you ain’t never gonna win no beauty contest –

Even your mother never showed your baby shots –

She told you that they all got lost

When the tiger they sat you on caught fire

That night they nearly forgot to get you out.

Now honey, that’s fine, the parts may be all wrong

But the design they create is stunning

When you wink that droopy lid, and grin

And we are lying in your bumpy bed, and your fingers

Start exploring my less than immaculate skin

And heavenly choirs start singing

You are one sexy babe; and to me will always be

My perfect 10, the ultimate score, and, of course -

Mister drop-dead gorgeous.
