It's almost the end of Dancing with the Stars 2010, and the final three couples put on dazzling performances tonight!
Evan Lycasek, Olympic ice skater, graceful dance partner and charismatic as can be, dazzled fans last week when he and Anna received amazing scores, according to People.com:
"Evan and Anna earned a 29 for their ballroom routine, during which Evan finally broke out of his shell and showed some personality. Anna encouraged the Olympian in rehearsal to think about the things that make him happiest: coffee, cars and his baby nephew. The tip paid off — the judges praised Evan for showing his fun side and called the performance “wonderful.” But the couple’s paso doble during the Latin round, for which they earned a perfect score, truly blew away the crowd. Len praised Evan for his ability to dominate his pro-partner in the “man’s dance.”"
Derek Hough and Nicole Scherzinger have been strong since day one, performing each routine with verve; in April, according to yet an earlier report from TV Guide, the two brought the crowd to their feet with a smoking hot tango:
"By the end of the night, Derek Hough and Nicole Scherzinger’s Pretty Woman-inspired tango stole the show. Not only did they earn a standing ovation from the crowd, but judge Bruno Tonioli deemed the couple “two players at the top of their game!” Carrie Ann Inaba called them “superstars.”"
Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy undeniably have the most chemistry going, however - the newscaster matched with the professional dancer has been causing rumors to fly for week - although both claim to be single. Erin was wincing at other contestant's glee when Kate Gosselin was booted form the reality dance show, but Maks was delighted.
The 'not a couple' led off tonight, in a thrilling samba that had Erin's hips going mad and Bruno commenting “You were hotter than the noon at the tropics!” Score: Carrie 10, Len 10, and Bruno 9 = 29.
Evan and Anna did the Viennese waltz, and Carrie exclaimed, “It was a beautiful, emotional, endless, enchanting dream and I loved it!” Score: Carrie 10, Len 9, and Bruno 9 = 28.
Nicole and Derek did the rumba. Nicole went horizontal with her leg wrapped around her classy partner in a move that had the audience screaming. Score: Carrie 9, Len 9, and Bruno 10 = 28.
Round two: after the inevitable costume change, the couples were back for the freestyle portion of the program. Erin and Maks used a couch and bed for props, and there was plenty of kissing as they danced to “How Do I Get You Alone.” Score: Carrie 9, Len 8, and Bruno 9 = 28. Total for the night? 55.
Evan and Anna went fast and Footloose with a crazy routine in which Evan incorporated some very ice skatery moves - leading to disapproval from the judges. Score: Carrie 8, Len 8, Bruno 8 = 24. Total for the night? 52
Nicole and Derek were brilliant in a breathtaking routine that had one small bobble - which Bruno excused by saying it only happened because they were trying to do what had never been done. Score: Carrie 9, Len 9, Bruno 9 = 27. Total for the night? 55
Tomorrow tune in for the finale - who will be the couple to take home the 2010 DWTS honors?
