Where is me?
The atmosphere is pressing in
Heavy against my face and skin
Like I am swimming in a fog
And not quite sure what is going on
My eyelids are filled with lead
Dragging down, tugging at my head
Deep sleepy desires are pulling me under
Pushing at me from the inside out
Ripping me completely asunder
Dizzying argument and weighty insights
Knocking me sideways then heaving me upright
Not alone in a crowded place
But crowded around in an empty space
Embracing arms holding me high
Lifting me when I want to hide
Running in place doesn’t work so well
Especially in the pursuit of health
Taking a stand and getting off this treadmill
Knowing that He is there to catch me when I take a spill
With the knowledge and acceptance that I often will
In Him I am finding my worth and reason
Casting into light all the horrors of this season
No substitutes will suffice
Only gut wrenching work and amazing sacrifice
Who will be left standing when the battle is won?
Who will love me when the fighting is done?
Lord, let it be You, and let it be me
After all, It can only be me and You three
Or I’ll be doomed to run the same race over again
With no solutions, a track without end
And that is a fate I simply cannot accept

Poetry: Hurting
by Parin Waljee
I have been hurting all these year's
Feeling the pain and the loneliness,
Life has to go on I suppose but Im sure you don't
by Lauren Dymke
Felt tip fingers softly, softly
Why is it your insides bleed, loved one?
Ache and heart hiccup.
You were never meant to
by Missy Terry
I closed my eyes one night
With tears flowing down my face
They were warm to the touch
But the warmth was not comforting
To the Father
Where have you been, why did you go away?
I have a picture of you…I was tempted to throw it away.
For
This pain was but a sword,
unsheathed but lying on the floor,
until I picked it up
and embraced its blade
so tight, so tight.
