Romantic Notions
I'd given up on romantic notions
Poured out all my secret potions
Stopped tossing coins in wishing wells
Forgotten all my magic spells.
Turned my back on make-believe
Dropped the tricks stuffed up my sleeve
No lighting candles in the dark
The wick no longer felt the spark
Flowers dried up in the vase
As endless nights turned to cold days
That seemed to have no magic left
I seemed to have lost hope ...
and yet...
