Phoenix, Arizona is home to several art and history museums. However there are some museums that stand out above all others. If you planning a visit to Phoenix or even if you currently live in Phoenix, the following are some museums worth checking out.
Located at 600 East Washington Street, the Arizona Science Museum was first established in 1980 under the name Arizona Museum of Science and Technology.
It has five themed areas with over three hundred interactive activities for children and adults. It also has a planetarium that hosts several events each month. You will also be able to see amazing films in their IMAX theatre.
Admissions vary depending on age and what areas you would like to visit. Admission prices range from $10.00 to $28.00. The Arizona Science museum is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, except on select holidays.

The museum is located at 1700 W. Washington and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm. However, the museum is always closed on state holidays. Admission to the museum is free to all ages.
Located at 1625 N. Central Avenue, the Phoenix Art Museum is known for having amazing art on exhibit in a variety of mediums. As with most art museums, the exhibits change from time to time so it is a great museum to come back to time and time again. Admission is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for seniors and college students, and $4.00 for children ages 6 to 17.
If you are looking for a museum to learn more about Native American art and culture, the Heard Museum is the place to go. Located at 2301 North Central Avenue, it is home to art exhibits and special events featuring music and culture from the local Native American Nations.
It also has a satillite museum in Scottsdale. American Indians and museum members admission is free. Admission for others range from $3.00 to $12.00. Museum times are Monday through Saturday 9:30am to 5:30pm and Sunday from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum
