Much love is wasted on love’s demands
Specified to astounding detail -
The shades of flowers, rings on hands
Hair partings of vermillion under the veil.
Rules and regulations that prescribe
Fasts and feasts and four letter words -
Everything must be paraded outside
Everything voiced and nothing inferred.
Well, I’m not the one who’ll rigidly stand
And tell you what to do or say.
Love’s yours, and no reprimands
On flowers or rings, or words or ways.
