The Gift

When I was a young man a beast lived in me, a beast hungry for anger, so I feed the beast with anything that would keep it quiet, pills, rock-n-roll,and pain. They all helped me stop the beast from talking my heart and mind. As I grew older the beast grew smaller and the anger turned into hope that one day I would find my gift. Then I met a girl who had the same pain, she said I will love you forever, an angel for me to hold. On that day I felt that GOD must love me. I promised to never hold another and to give her my life and then she gave me a gift, a little girl, and on that day I knew what heaven must feel like. No man could ask for more, and when my little heaven called me daddy I knew I would die for her. I had been given the only gift I would walk through hell to find. I had been given heaven but no man could hold heaven forever. My angel had lied to me, she was waiting for another love and now another man holds my angel. The angel that gave me heaven took my gift from me. The angel told me heaven wasn't mine. I prayed for the beast to come back, I wished for hell to swallow me, I prayed for death. Do I hope for GOD to send me another gift or pray an angel to send me my justice. Does he know he holds heaven in his arms, will he give his life for my little girl?
