Soon there will be no money, think about that very carefully. In the not-too-distant future, money will become obsolete, as our society gradually moves into what will be known as the 'cashless society'. Money, as we know it, will not mean a thing anymore (at least hard cash won't, as that will be phased out totally).
Soon financial dealings could be done by the mere swipe of your wrist, which will probably have a microchip implanted just underneath your skin. This microchip will contain upon it all your financial information that the new computer terminals will need to read whether your account is active or not. Money will then be either credited to you or debited to your account, depending on what you want. During this process, there will not be one moment when hard cash will pass between you, and the computer terminal.
In the meantime, during our journey toward a completely cashless society, money still has an even more important role than ever. Financial institutions rule with an iron grip within this modern-day society. Indeed, the Exchange Rate Mechanism is the overseer of monetary stability. Currency stability must be adhered too at all costs, because the costs to the ordinary man and woman in the street could mean the loss of our cars, our jobs and even our homes.
Those who understand the meaning of money have a head start on those that do not. One must be absolutely resolute in this, that money, and the understanding of it, can literally mean the difference between failure in life, or success. Yet money can mean different things to different people.
To some people, money is not important at all. However health is priceless, and there have been many people who have stated that money cannot buy you your health, for once your health has gone, then that is it. Some people are satisfied with the bare minimum of money, wanting no more or no less than what they have. And still, some people are happy with having no money at all. I call these the 'nomads', surviving on what they can find from place to place, and being innovative in their survival.
But there are others who put money before all else. These are the ones that will strive to gain every penny they can get. Money means everything to them, and in some cases they don't care how they go about getting it - even if they have to walk over people on the way up. The meaning of money to such people can become the be all and end all of everything - to the detriment of everything
