Ways For Women to Improve Their Confidence
Women today have influences everywhere telling them who they should be, how they should look, and how they should act. Of course, everyone is an individual and different. However, when they don’t meet societal expectations, the self-confidence meter drops like a stone in a pond.
The consequences of low self-esteem are also similar to a stone in a pond: the ripples affect other aspects of a woman’s life. She will be susceptible to abuse, she will have lower levels of productivity at work, and she is likely to have more illness as well as depression.
On the other hand, high self-esteemed women lead happier, more satisfied lives. Here are a few ways women can built and maintain self-confidence:
Get Dressed Up
Get up, get dressed, and put your make up on. It has been said that a woman always feels better if she looks good. If you aren’t sure about make up, go to your local department store, Merle Norman, Mary Kay, or trusted friend.
Pamper yourself and get a make over. You may also consider trying different styles of clothes. If you are a jeans-and-tee kind of girl, try something a little more dressy such as a skirt and nice top.
Stand Tall
A woman who has good posture and faces the world head on is also less likely to be a victim of violence. It also improves confidence by making the statement that you can take on anything.
Do A Little Weeding
Your life may be a hodgepodge of different kinds of people you like to call friends. However, some of those so-called friends may actually be bringing you down. Those toxic friends need to be in your life on a very limited basis if not out of your life all together.
Maybe she needs constant reassurance, makes snide remarks about everything, or is constantly putting somebody else down. Whatever her problem is, don’t make it yours.
Set Goals
Make a list of things you want to accomplish. Maybe you want to get it done today, this week, or this year. Then do it. Check it off as you get it done. If you need a little more motivation, do something and put it on the list. That way, you can check it off and feel good about getting things done.
Be Active
Another way to feel good about yourself is to be active. This does not mean just exercise. Go for that walk, go to the movies with the girls, go do something fun by yourself. Living life and embracing the life you have to live is great for gaining confidence.
Take control of your life in the sense that you don’t need anyone else to make you feel good about yourself. Maybe you look like the women in those glossy magazines and maybe you don’t, but that doesn’t change who you are.
Women have to make the conscious decision daily to be happy, beautiful, and full of life no matter what. Confidence is sexy, it makes you feel good, and the only person who can responsible for that is you.
