We all know that babies are safer when they are in a car seat while you are driving somewhere. It keeps them from getting injured seriously in many cases if there is a car accident. There are some dangers associated with keeping a baby in a car seat too long though. It is important that you stop and take the baby out of the car seat for a while if you are travelling long distances. This will help you avoid the dangers associated with keeping the baby there too long.

Here are the dangers of keeping a baby in a car seat too long:

Diaper Rash

Leaving a baby in a car seat too long can cause the baby to get diaper rash. Chances are that if you have had the baby in the car seat too long, his/her diaper has been soiled for a long time. That means that the chances of diaper rash are much higher than if you were changing the babies diaper as you should be. You must make sure that you get the baby out of the seat and change him/her to avoid this problem.

Sore Rump

Remember that the baby can't move around a lot in a car seat. That means that he/she isn't able to relieve his/her behind from getting sore. Sitting for long periods of time in one position will cause issues with the baby's bottom. You wouldn't like it if you were stuck in one spot for long periods of time. Your baby doesn't like it either. Make sure you stop and take the baby out of the car seat every now and then to keep his/her bottom from paying the price.

Cranky

Your baby will definitely get cranky if left in the car seat for too long. That means a lot of crying and that can cause illness for your baby. It will also create problems for you. There is nothing like being stuck in a car with a cranky baby. It will work your nerves in the worst way possible. This is probably one of the worst dangers of keeping a baby in a car seat for too long. A cranky baby can cause you to drive improperly as well which makes it even more dangerous.

These are the dangers that are most likely to occur if you keep your baby in a car seat for too long. Stop, get the baby out of the car seat and take care of him/her the way that a baby needs to be cared for. Babies aren't supposed to be in a car seat for long periods of time. You wouldn't like it if it were you so don't expect it of your baby.
