Report to the Department of Defense on the Status of Anti-Zombie Weaponry (AZW).  DECLASSIFIED

Overview

Recent Zombie attacks on major population centers within the borders of North America have demonstrated serious problems and limited success by our forces.

Air, Land and Naval Forces have engaged Zombie forces on several fronts with only marginal advances. The constantly growing numbers of the Zombie threat is directly attributable to the limitations of current weaponry in combating Zombies.

Priority Issues

The civilian population is ill-equipped to combat the Zombies. Despite the best effort of the Anti-Zombie Guard and many militias, the Zombies continue to advance. All major population centers are at risk at this time.

Civilian forces rely on commercially available weapons and ammunition, but due to extreme number of Zombies and the number of Zombie incursions, both weapons and ammunition are in short supply.

AntI-Zombie Guard and better equipped militia forces have met with some success using flame throwers and flame throwing armor. Air and Naval forces have had a reason amount of success with Vietnam-era napalm weapons. Napalm stockpiles are running critically low and reproduction is delayed due to the loss of gasoline refineries in the Gulf states.

Anti-Zombie Weapons

The most effective Anti-Zombie Weapons are the flame thrower and flame throwing armor. Shipments of these weapons to the front line have been from existing stockpiles.

Flame Throwers.
The backpack style flame thrower is being used to the fullest extent possible, but its effectiveness in limited by the need to constantly refuel the device. The backpack flame thrower is a difficult weapon to manage due to its weight and occasional mishandling by untrained soldiers. The supply of fuel is limited, as highways and railroads have been devastated by the Zombie invasion forces.

Flame thrower losses during combat are a continuous problem for battlefield commanders. AZDF Casualties are estimated at 30 per day, as Zombie Forces continuously adapt new defense behavior.

Armored Flame Throwers.
The armored flame thrower is fast, mobile and provides significant protection for its operators. Battlefield commanders have reported significant success and demand more and improved models as quickly as possible.

All effort is being made to produce more advanced AFT weapons. As mentioned above, fuel supply for the AFT is quickly becoming limited.

Napalm.
Aerial and Naval bombardment using Napalm has proven very successful
