Crochet patterns: Fingerless gloves

by Wendy Brumback

Created on: May 17, 2010

Fingerless Gloves have made an appearance in the clothing styles today, and it looks like they might be here to stay.  These great little items keep your hands warm while allowing for movement in the fingertips.  They can be used when crafting, or as a stylish accessories when you go out.  They really do have a style for every occasion.  Some of good ones out there make use of crochet to create.  And there are so many patterns available on the web and in books that I have decided to weed through to bring you the best of the best.  Some will be free crochet patterns from the web, others will require you to buy a book or purchase a pattern for download.  No matter what though you are likely to find exactly what you are looking for in this pile of patterns!

Check out the Ariel Pattern on Cabled Crusader Patterns’ Blog here.  This pair is wrist length with a cable that wraps around, weaving in the gloves and then is tied in a bow at the top of the hand.  They are great for sitting around at home, or a night out.

Looking for something heavy for the colder months?  Then you might want to check it out here.  These gloves, posted on Crochet Me, are made from wool and go up the arm a few inches to help keep the cold out.

Now let’s say it is going to be a night out on the town - dinner, dancing, the whole shebang.  Then you might want to go here to Crochet Spot for a pair of lacy gloves that incorporate the shell stitch.

Want to have a list of patterns to choose from?  Then Crochet Central is probably the best place to be, check it out here.

If you still haven’t found what you are looking for, and don’t mind dishing out a couple of bucks then you might want to pop on over to Esty and take a look at all the patterns they have posted here. This site is filled with many homemade projects and patterns for purchase.  They are designed by every day, average people who just couldn’t quite find what they were looking for.

Finally what if you want to make a pair for your child?  Well I found a book that has a great pair for children.  “Crochet Kid Stuff: 20 Fun Projects” by Sharon Mann has the best pattern I have seen to date for a pair of fingerless kids gloves.

There are so many patterns out there for you to find, I hope I have been of some help to you today. And to all you crocheters out there – Happy Crocheting!
