only to have my arm jumped on by a beautiful honey colored baby. I held him up and he sniffed me and I was all smiles! I handed him over to my husband and let him do some inspecting. In the meantime, I looked at the others playing and frolicking and noticed a very small one in a corner. He wasn't playing at all. I reached for him and he stretched out and sniffed my hand. I carefully lifted him out of the cage and all I felt on him was bones. He was so skinny and frail. I think my decision was made in that single moment. I looked over at my husband who was still playing with the honey colored fuzzy, obviously enjoying himself. I told him I wanted him to hold this almost black one that I had in my hands. He says, "Yeah, but I kind of like this guy!" I said, "Please Hun. Just hold this one for a minute." So he traded with me and took the frail one in his hands. One look said it all. A colleague of his had remembered that we had ferrets and knew that we would be the best to approach about this. He explained to my husband that his son and daughter-in-law had a pair of ferrets and a new born baby at home. Apparently, one of the ferrets had crawled on the baby and the father didn't like that. He picked up the ferret and threw him against a wall and then brought him back to the pet store. I'm pretty sure at this point of the story, my jaw hit the floor. He then explained to my husband that they no longer wanted to keep the second ferret and needed to find a home for him. I certainly was not going to let this unknown fuzzy stay in this house and I couldn't bare the thought of it going to a shelter. We made arrangements to
