Wakeup Call for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Lebron James?

The curse of Sports Illustrated kills Shaq, The Cavs, and Lebron James is dethroned. Ding-dong, the king is dead. The Boston Celtics defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers with the help of the Sports Illustrated curse. Lebron James is dethroned before he becomes the king of the NBA.  The Boston Celtics win their series with the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games. Lebron tries to carry the team on his shoulders, but he is unable to. The weight of the Sports Illustrated curse is too much for Lebron to carry by himself.

Shaq’s mug fills this week’s cover of Sports Illustrated. The headlines read "Good old SHAQ Can He Deliver a Ring to the King?" (Sports Illustrated) The answer is "no" before the mailman is able to place the new copy of Sports Illustrated into the mailbox. What happened? Were the Celtics that good? Are the Cleveland Cavaliers that bad? They were in the last two games of the six game series. Boston won game five by more than thirty points. Boston won game six by nine points. Cleveland became a two-man team of Mo Williams and Lebron James. The thirty-eight year old Shaquille O'Neal could only manage eleven points and four rebounds. Lebron James was injured and he could not pass to his left. This limited his ability and Boston took advantage of his limitations.

Boston played great in this series. Garnett, Rondo, and Pierce stole the show. Boston played decent offense and great defense. They caused Cleveland to commit an enormous amount of turnovers. Cleveland had twenty-two turnovers in game six. You cannot win (on the road) when you commit twenty-two turnovers. Boston was a better team in this series. Now they have to play Orlando. Orlando has not lost a game in the playoffs this season.

Boston was great, but that is not why Cleveland lost the series. Cleveland lost this series because of the Sports Illustrated curse. It is a well-known fact that if you appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated, something horrible is going to happen to you. Besides, the Cavs come from Cleveland. When is the last time Cleveland won anything? They are not supposed to win. What is Cleveland going to do next year without Lebron James? Do you think he is really going to come back so he can lose again and again? Lebron will be like every other (Modern day) superstar. He will go somewhere where he believes he can become a champion. Lebron James cannot really be the king of the NBA without an NBA championship. My congratulations go out to the Boston Celtic fans.
