Four Evergreen Trees for Your Yard and Landscaping Needs:

Colorado Blue Spruce Trees:
The Colorado Blue Spruce tree adds beauty and value to a property. The Colorado Blue Spruce has steel blue coloring. This evergreen tree has a graceful, conical shape. These trees grow so densely - that they make excellent windbreaks or privacy screens. That is, in large, open areas, where there is enough room for very large, spreading trees. For a hedge, plant the Colorado Blue Spruce trees 10' apart. Plant these trees 18' to 20 apart - as ornamental trees. These evergreen trees will grow to 50' or more in 35-50 years. They thrive best in full sun and moist soil conditions. They can survive in light, dry soil, if they are watered while their root system is becoming established.

Dawn Redwood Trees:

The Dawn Redwood tree has been around a long time. This is perhaps the only tree that survived nearly 70 million years. These evergreen trees thrive in almost all soil and climate conditions. All you do is - plant the Colorado Blue Spruce evergreen tree, water it, and then, stand back and let it grow. This tree grows 3' to 6' a year - without you even fertilizing, pruning, or cutting it. This is a really lovely tree. You can grow singly as an ornamental tree, or as a windscreen, or as a grouping of trees. From the springtime green, its fern-like leaves go from an orange-brown color to a dark brown color in the fall.

Norway Spruce Trees:

The Norway Spruce tree is a good tree to plant. It has a really lovely shape. Its pyramid shape and dark green needles make it a favorite of evergreen trees. These trees are very cold hardy trees. They are very versatile. They do well - when they are planted individually in a landscape, and when they are planted in groups of trees to form windbreaks. The Norway Spruce tree grows 40' to 60' tall.

Thuja Green Giant Trees:

The Thuja Green Giant evergreen tree is a high quality evergreen tree. It was introduced to the gardening public by the U.S. National Arboretum. It is a vigorous grower. This evergreen tree can grow more than 3' per year. The Thuja Green Giant evergreen tree adapts to almost any soil condition, even sandy loam or heavy clay soil conditions. These evergreen trees are very uniform in their pyramid shape. They don't need any trimming. The Green Giant evergreen tree is very tolerant to pests and diseases. They are very hardy trees. A Thuja green Giant grows to a height of 60' tall with a base measuring between 12' to 20'. Theyare lovely trees. Green Giant trees can be trimmed to any height you want. They can be grown individually as an ornamental tree, or together as a windbreak. For a really fast growing, privacy screen, plant the Thuja Green Giant 5' to 6' apart from each other. Otherwise, plant the Thuja Green Giant evergreen trees 10' to 12' apart from each other - in full sun to partial sun.
