There are hundreds of different religions,
every one of them make the claim,
that their God is the ultimate being,
the person who does not suffer blame.
They claim he controls our lives on Earth,
he follows us through to the end,
if we obey his written word,
to his heaven we will ascend.
Faith is the secret that's what they preach,
you are to believe in what you can't see,
you must deny the evil of Satan,
to ensure your soul is set free.
Who in Gods name is this Satan,
in this fantasy where does he belong,
he's a bit like your baby brother,
it wasn't me it was him who did wrong.
This gives the Gods an easy option,
for when our lives get really hard,
while we place all the blame on this Satan guy,
God gets a get out of jail free card.
We build churches, mosques and temples,
costing millions of pounds,
worship statues of people we've never seen,
now that's what really confounds.
If you really want to know the truth,
while around us our lives crash,
your religions won't help to bail you out,
they'll ensure they keep all their cash.
How dare you show resentment to God,
we must listen to his every word,
we would if we could hear him talk,
religious teachings are totally absurd.
If you ever question their wisdom,
blasphemy is their weapon of choice,
how dare you question the word of God,
they'll then try to silence your voice.
Which of these Gods will have the ultimate say,
will his paradise be theirs or ours,
which religion will have its day,
whose heaven will have the tallest towers.
We must ask the question, whose God is supreme,
for it has to be made crystal clear,
religious teachings are fiction not fact,
they play on a human beings fear.
Dependent on whose God is the real one,
will there be any recrimination,
is it conceivable that God could be guilty of,
race or religious discrimination.
They say God made us all in his likeness,
that's the way the story's portrayed,
the truth is really quite different,
