We must turn the media upside down

by Roxanna Kay

A rivalry between the facts, egos, and politics contort the news reported to the world. Toss into the pile “the all mighty dollar” and the facts begin to diminish greatly. Reporters want the breaking story or the one big story that will send their career into a frenzy of awards and industry respect. A little twist here, a slanted angle there and the story is sensationalized out of context.

There are good reporters. To be fair, the pressure they get for ratings can't be overlooked. The political views of the station's “top dogs” hamper what is aired as well. Freedom of Speech…as long as you say what I want you too.

POLITICAL AFFAIRS

Let's face it; the press won the election for Obama. Any criticism of him was considered a smear. Yet they could condemn Sarah Palin for her wardrobe. Even in her pajama pants Palin has more class, truth and love for her country than Obama would even consider.

The media allowed Obama to put himself on a pedestal with the delusion he is better than the rest of mankind. In the process they aggressively assaulted Palin’s family. Lies and empty promises spewed from Obama’s mouth as hot lava from a volcano and the media hung on every blistering word.

You didn't hear reports on Obama and his wife offending other countries with their “I'm superior” attitude. After Michelle pawed at the Queen of England, they gave her an iPod for a gift. When in Rome, do as the Romans…its called respect.

You don't touch the Queen and the gift should be something meaningful. In Norway, Obama disregarded tradition and cancelled lunch with the King and a tour of the Noble Peace Center. This infuriated the people of Norway.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his wife brought lavish gifts on their first official visit to the White House. A pen holder carved from the wood of the HMS Gannet, a warship that once ran anti-slavery missions along the African coast. Brown also presented Obama with a first edition of Sir Martin Gilbert's biography of Winston Churchill.

Obama’s gift to Brown…a box of 25 DVDs. To further embarrass Brown, Obama cancelled the customary joint press conference. The British headlines read, “Brown faces humiliation”. British press was outraged by the shabby treatment of their Prime Minister.

More countries have reported that Obama has no concept of protocol. We can’t depend on our media to report deliberate flippant snubs from Obama to friendly countries. This country needs to see Obama’s true colors.

We heard for months about the Health Care Reform, but we never heard the truth. Truth is – The US can't afford it – 36 months after the bill was signed we will be required to have a microchip inserted in our bodies – and an increase in capital gains taxes.

Truth is…Obama hasn't accomplished any peace agreements. Wars are still ongoing. His only accomplishments have been more government spending, more debt, higher taxes and an assault on the free enterprise system.

It is the journalistic responsibility of the media to report the truth. Unfortunately, the truth can be bought and replaced with a fog of manipulation.

Obama, you're just a man…and not a very good one either. So stop strutting around the world pretending to be something you're not. You are an embarrassment to America and to yourself. The bible warns us of a smooth talking man - the devil in sheeps skin.

The media should be obligated to report the whole truth without bias. The pitiful fact is we can't trust what the media reports. It's “time for change” alright!
