Is it worth it to go to college? Yes. There really isn't an argument for no. The experience of concentrated study on subjects that interest a person is absolutely priceless. The experience of living on ones own without being completely self reliant is also invaluable. These are experiences that can really solidify ones character. Yes, it sucks having big student loan debts, but it doesn't matter because after you try yourself in college you know so much more about yourself, and what you want, or don't want, to do. Besides, our generation is destined to live in immense debt our entire lives, so part of that might as well be a good education.

Its almost pointless to talk about the obvious monetary gains as well. Sure you could go straight to a career out of high school, but a college degree increases your chances of promotion, your payscale, and the opportunities afforded to you. Right out of high school you can expect to get paid a low amount for a long time, or you can go to college and make exponentially more than that a few years down the road.

so I'd say the choice is pretty clear.
