Store reviews: Discount Furniture Store (DFS)

I have heard many mixed things about DFS over the years and I accepted that, like any big company, there are going to be people who have had bad experiences with them, luckily, I seemed to be one of the luckier customers and wanted to share my experience.

When thinking about a sofa, I always think of DFS first which is credited to their ongoing advertising.

DFS are mainly in large modern stores with their trademark purple logo above. The layout is very spacious and although there are a lot of sofas on display, they do not seem crammed in or squashed. You can walk around without being harassed by sales staff and there are helpful information packages located at each sofa. Each item of furniture has its name and price displayed clearly and it also shows other items in the range such as footstalls and armchairs that match. Everything always seems to be fresh, clean and good quality.

The slaes staff are very friendly and customers are left free and uninterrupted to browse and decide on the furniture they want along with decisions on colour/style/additionals. There are plenty of sales staff available on the shop floor, enough to tend to all customers, but none circled. It's easy to catch the eye of a sales person who will then attend to you, asking if you need any help and sitting on the sofa with you to sort out the sale.

Staff are professional, but friendly and give full reassurance that they understand your needs.

After going through all the paperwork and arranging payment etc, you are told a delivery date, which is confirmed the week before as well as some can take up to 6 weeks. I had to delay my delivery due to not getting my keys to my flat when expected, but DFS were helpful and accomodating.

We have now had the sofa for over a month and it's wonderful. The material is good quality and feels lovely and soft. The frame and springs are sturdy and also come with a 10 year guarantee which is great for peace of mind.

Overall, I am very happy to suggest DFS and pleased I was one of the people who had a good experience. As I said before, being a large company, there are bound to be those who unfortunately do not have the same experience, but on a whole from the sales team and showroom to the sofa and delivery, I would fully suggest DFS to anyone. Especially, considering their prices are extremely competitive and when you factor in the quality and comparison from other furniture stores, they are more than worth it.

We have actually since popped back and ordered the matching armchair and foot stool for our sofa and I am hopeful after having a breeze of a time ordering from DFS again, that the delivery and quality of product will be exactly what I expect.
