Poetry: Perseverance

by Elle Reyac

Created on: May 13, 2010

Time trickles finer
Through times glass
I laugh
Throw my head back
Grind my teeth
And walk forward

Corners
Are easy to get lost to when
Walking in the dark
Hear the tick of the clock
And struggle
I whisper
It echoes a stutter
Only words translated inside
My mind

Unwind
Reconsider
Light a candle and walk slowly
Crawl against the wall
Feel through trials
Push through my own mistakes
Open my eyes to awake

To the lights
Of smiles and friends
Family and ends
Beginnings and enemies that wont disappear
From my mind

In time
I will continue
With or without you
(him/her the other)

And I call it life.
And Im just a sideshow.

Tick tock
Says the clock.
Time to go
