Doodle Jump is an application for the iPod and the iPhone in which you guide a cute little green doodle to jump on platforms and reach as high as you can without getting hit by monsters, falling into black holes, or falling off the platforms. In addition to this, there are many things to guide you. Springs, trampolines, propeller hats, and jetpacks will all guide you and give you a boost. Many people will say this game is like Papi Jump (another iPod and iPhone application) but this is not the case. Doodle Jump is Papi Jump on steroids. In Doodle Jump, you can choose between many different stages. These stages include a normal stage, a winter stage, a graveyard stage, a jungle stage, and a space stage. Each stage has unique characteristics that make it unique from the others.

*Normal

As most experts on Doodle Jump will agree, the normal mode is the easiest for playing and achieving high scores in because it is simple the least distracting. There are no background changes and no borders on the screen. When the doodle shoots, the ammo that it shoots in the air continues up until it leaves the screen. If you want to get a high score, this level is recommended for beginners. If you are not a beginner, see the space level.

*Winter

In this level, our doodle friend is dressed up in a Santa Claus Christmas hat. He has rosy red cheeks and the tip of his nose is the color of a cherry. In this mode, there is snow falling all around, creating a distracting background. In addition, when you shoot, snowballs come out. These snowballs fall back towards you due to gravity and add just another distraction. The different monsters are dressed up as snowmen.

*Graveyard

In the spookiest graveyard level, the doodle is made to look like a ghost. He is pure white and glows. In this level, there are not many distractions but that is because the visibility is very bad. The whole level is dark except for the area immidiatly around the doodle. Because of this, this level is most likely the most difficult and should not be attempted when you are trying to get a high score.

*Jungle

In this level, our doodle is dressed up in a safari hat and safari clothes. The things he shoots are green balls. These balls fall back down after you shoot them so, like the snowballs, they are very distracting. In addition to this, there is a border of leaves all around the screen. This is harmful to playing ability because it may block the view of the platforms on the bottom of the screen.

*Space

The most unique thing about this level is that it has a rocket ship. The rocket ship is like the jetpack but it will bring you up much more. The height it takes you is probably a little over 6000 points. The only downside to this level is there is a dark background, which may cause distractions. In addition to this, the platforms that disintegrate over time are not distinguishable from the other platforms until they have almost blown up. Other than that, this is a great mode to try and get your high score on!
