Tips for getting a good night of sleep

These suggestions can help you to get restful sleep - sleep that rejuvenates you.

Have you been going to bed to just lay awake for hours? Have you not been sleeping through the night, or not sleeping fitfully? These helpful suggestions have helped many people to get to sleep faster, and sleep through the night. These helpful suggestions have helped many others to sleep a good, restful, and rejuvenating sleep. These ideas can help you to go to bed, go to sleep, and to sleep well. Wouldn't you like to have a restful and rejuvenating sleep - night after night.

Positive sleep inner talk, not negative sleep inner talk, will help you to fall asleep faster. Saying things to yourself like "I know I won't be able to fall asleep tonight" or "I am probably not going to be able to fall asleep for hours" or "I am an insomniac" can help to ensure that you do not get a good night's sleep. Talk like this keeps you awake.

Positive sleep inner talk should go like this. "I will get a good night's sleep tonight" or "I will fall asleep easily tonight" or "I will fall fast asleep tonight." These positive sleep inner talks will help to enforce that you get a good night's sleep. This type of talk will help you to be able to fall asleep faster.

Another way to help you to relax and fall asleep faster is to do this. After you lay down to go to sleep, say this to yourself with your inner voice. Let each part of your body be relaxed as your inner voice says this. "My feet are relaxed. My legs are relaxed. My buttocks are relaxed. My abdomen is relaxed. My chest and back are relaxed. My hands are relaxed. My arms are relaxed. My neck is relaxed. My face is relaxed. My tongue and mouth are relaxed. My head is relaxed. All of my muscles are relaxed." Say this calmly and slowly to yourself - while you are laying in your bed to fall asleep. This is the "Systematic Relaxation Technique." You can go through these inner sayings several times to help you fall asleep. Don't have any other thoughts. If other thoughts come into your mind, calmly let them move out of your mind. Don't dwell on other thoughts. Just think relaxing and calming thoughts about relaxing and falling asleep.

If your mind does fill up with thoughts of today or of thoughts that are troubling you, just let go of those thoughts. Let those thoughts drift away out of your mind. Don't think about them while you are going to sleep. These thoughts will cause you to not be able to fall asleep. These types of thoughts will awaken you,
