Wrestling today has become a joke business. You have one company that took away all competition and now they have no product. Controlled by someone who everyone can question whether or not he has a grip on what the fans truly want these days. He brings back one of the most beloved federations in Extreme Championship Wrestling and even says that it is in the hands of Paul Heyman- the original mastermind and The Innovator of Violence himself Tommy Dreamer. Original ECW fans were in an uproar, including myself. Everyone at first forgetting that this is in fact an WWE owned ECW. We found through the past few months just who we were dealing with. With dull story-lines, no cutting edge stuff or promos and no Heyman in control. ECW has become a joke promotion that Vince McMahon needed to succeed and be different. He needed it to be the old ECW just revamped and rethought and redone to fit in todays world. He needed Heyman to run with it and do his thing in order to show the fans that he did not take over and end WCW and help ECW for his own personal gain and happiness. He needed to show everyone that he cared about the future. It is very evident that he does not care about the future of wrestling. A little harsh I know, but have you watched the product? Wrestling used to be that thing that you loved to watch on Saturdays and Mondays and could get excited about and talk about the next day at school or work or just in general. It was the thing that was considered entertainment because of the matches and the risks and the story's. Now wrestling seems to be a joke, something not many admit they watch. And why isn't Owen Hart in the Hall of Fame? I've followed WWE for a long time and you can't ignore what heart and energy he had for the business.
Then comes a company like TNA. And they made an uproar for a while but now they are cooling down I think. With Jim Cornette and Vince Russo at the helm and Jeff Jarrett and whoever else overseeing it all I can honestly say that this product tries too hard. They try too hard to bring in WWE fans rather than create there own image and maybe even try to bring back some old WCW/ECW fans who have stopped watching wrestling. You even bring in favorite names from both respected companies. Names like Shane Douglas, Raven, Sting, Scott Steiner and others. You bring in old WWE rejects or wrestlers who were let go like Rhyno, Kurt Angle, Christian, 3D and more. Smart move? Absolutely. But you have to work on your product. Instead of trying
