Was the British government right to ban fox-hunting?

by MadBob

Is chasing a fox around the countryside only to have it ripped to shreds by a pack of dogs whose only existence is owed to breeding for the express purpose of ripping an animal to shreds the best and most effective way to cull a predatory pest?

IS IT HELL!

Those townie toffs who don jodhpurs and sip from silver hip flasks are idiots. Those communities who thrive on supporting the hunts should be wary of specializing too much in one area, for fear of becoming unable to evolve when hunting with dogs is eradicated. The whole "industry" is a farce and those who don't accept it as such are delusional.

Is killing at all necessary? Those who say yes, that foxes are pests and threats to the livelihood of farmers, should look at better ways to kill the pest. There MUST be a better way to kill a fox. Those who say no, I would hope, are in the majority (Hurray for Democracy! In all it's flawed majesty!). Check out your religious dogma - I'm sure it'll say somewhere that killing is wrong. Read up. Can you make the world better by making one inhabitant thereof suffer? The answer is no. An emphatic no.
