Immigration. What a powerful word this is turning out to be. According to the Larousse Chambers English Dictionary the word 'immigrate' is defined in one instance as: “to come to a foreign country with the intention of settling in it”. This word and the concept is not new. As a species we have always migrated from one place to another since the beginning of time. And though the reasons have been many, the core ideas remain the same.
We are explorers, dreamers, discoverers and in some cases, survivors. Whatever the reasons may be the end result is also the same. Most migrants are looking for something better. Desperately searching for that special place to “make all of their dreams come true”.
In later years many have come to the conclusion that the United States of America can make this happen. They have grown up on the beautiful vibrant images of smiling and carefree actors splashed across the TV screens displaying prosperity, security and infinite possibilities... if only they could make it to the shores of that wonderful country.

They have read in the newspapers of streets paved with “gold”, in this case “green gold” or dollars and decided that no matter what the outcome or cost would be…they just had to get there. And if legal ways would not do, then going “mojado” or “wet” as the saying goes, would be just fine.
The outcome has turned into what we see today. Millions of illegal immigrants in a land not their own, with dreams that may “never come true”. Their plight is not pretty and their struggle not pleasant to contemplate. And although the outcome is not yet known, there is no doubt that spirits will be crushed, hearts will be broken and families will be torn apart.
Add to this a bitter taste of "not belonging" and their future is glaringly uncertain. So the question is what can be done? How can the problem be solved? How about legalizing the millions? Give them a way to make their status legal in the Country?
Well it has been suggested but there seems to be quite a bit of resistance to this idea. Well then, let us consider another. Throw them all out. Will that work? That possibility would appear to cause quite a stir so in keeping with the
