The weirdest songs of all time

The weirdest song depends on what you mean by weird. Weird could mean that the music is weird, eg odd time signatures, odd mixtures of genres. OR weird could mean the lyrics, eg I am the walrus by the Beatles. The music is pretty straightforward, but the lyrics go something like:

"I am the eggman
they are the eggmen
I am the walrus
Goo goo g' joob"

The weirdest song, musically is probably most songs by mr.bungle, Fantomas and Frank Zappa's "Don't Eat The Yellow Snow". Fantomas have released four albums, their first being one of the weirdest. The songs are all in odd time signatures, there is no proper singing, the vocals are used like an instrument; Mike Patton makes noises rather than singing words. It is based on a comic book. their second album The Director's Cut, is covers of movie songs such as the godfather, which starts off normal, and then goes into some kind of death metal song. The vocals are used more normally as Mike sings words. Their third album called Delrium Corda, is written in the style of a horror film. This album has one song lasting for around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Personally I would say this is their most weird song, as it is different from a conventional song in every way. It is much longer, the structure doesn't follow a normal structure of a song, there are far more sound effects than a normal song, there are strange instruments used such as what sounds like water in a bucket and there is one section that has monk type singing mixed with heavy drumming. Their fourth album suspended animation which was recorded at the same time as their third, is similar to their first; it is made up of a lot of songs. the songs are rarely over 1 minute. It is written for the month of April, so there is one song for each day. It is also written in the style of a Japanese cartoon, so their are lots of noises such as game noises and cartoon style noises.

The weirdest song lyrically is probably I am the Walrus by the Beatles. It makes hardly any sense:

"I'm crying, I'm crying
Yellow matter custard
Dripping from a dead dog's eye
Crabalocker fishwife
Pornographic priestess
Boy, you've been a naughty girl
you let your knickers down"

The part "Yellow matter custard dripping from a dead dogs eye" is probably the weirdest part. Someone could probably find a hidden meaning within all of the song, and how it is related to Paul McCartney's "death" in 1966 or whenever it was. Personally I look at lyrics for what they say, and not what they could be saying or implying. John Lennon didn't know what he wanted them to mean, as he said in an interview "I write lyrics that you don't realize what they mean till after". He is basically saying that he has written lyrics without thinking about a meaning, and then seeing what comes out at the other end. Overall these lyrics are weird.

to summarize, I think the weirest song musically is Delirium Cordia by Fantomas, and the Weirdest song lyrically is I am the Walrus by The Beatles.
