Sometimes in the night
I awake to your voice calling
From a time when we were young
A song we never sung
Our lives had just begin
Dancing in my head
I react to our hands holding
Our embrace with smiles that beam
In your eyes I saw the gleam
Again last night, or so it seemed
When I awake, it’s there to see
It wasn’t you who danced with me
I was a victim of the night
Yet it never felt so right
Just shadows dancing in the night
Holding you again
I saw the starlight in your eyes
The scent of your perfume
Sent my soul across the moon
Our dancing ended all too soon
Sparkles in your eyes
Our laughter filled the air
We danced like way back when
Two souls that wouldn’t blend
Yes we had it all back then
When I awake, it’s there to see
It wasn’t you who danced with me
I was a victim of the night
Yet it never felt so right
Just shadows dancing in the night
Gifts from God are sent
But we didn’t pay attention
My love, I wished you knew
I know it was hard on you
You saw it in me too
Why does this love sing
Some songs never are sung again
We had a chance to shine
We should have felt so fine
Guess we learn with passing time
When I awake, it’s there to see
It wasn’t you who danced with me
I was a victim of the night
Yet it never felt so right
Just shadows dancing in the night
