You may have heard about sex bracelets being used by school aged kids. You may not understand what they are and what the implications of those sex bracelets are though. Sex bracelets are a new type of bragging about what a person has done in the course of sexual activity. Kids, usually girls, will purchase these bracelets and wear them to show what they have done with “boys”.

Sex bracelets would seem like a harmless thing when a parent sees them. The parents think they are just a piece of jewelry that the girl has taken to wearing. It was once a secret only known by the kids that wore them. They wear them proudly because they don’t realize that it truly does damage their reputation. They want other kids to think that they have done certain sex acts. It is just one way that kids become popular today. It’s a sad way to have to make friends though.

These sex bracelets are different colors. Each color represents a different sexual act that the person wearing it has performed. The levels that it goes to are unfathomable and will leave any parent livid to find out what they mean. It can go from the most innocent act to the most disgusting acts of sex that you can imagine. The more bracelets you have in the different colors, the more popular you become.

These bracelets are not an innocent thing. Kids don’t realize what they are doing to themselves. It is a degrading act to wear these bracelets, let alone to actually perform the actions that they denote. It isn’t something to be proud of. If a person is sexually active, that should be between them and the person they were with. Sex isn’t about how many bracelets you can collect though teens today think that it is. It is scary to think that they don’t mind showing the world that they are sexually active. It is crazy to think that these kids would want anyone to know what they do behind closed doors. Sex is about the intimacy between two people. It should always remain private between the two. Advertising that you do this or that thing is only asking for trouble in the long run. Don’t let yourself be degraded this way. Parents, talk to your kids about sex bracelets and the importance of privacy in these matters. Talk to them about sex and what it should mean. Sex isn’t a sport or game to win. It is one of the closest relationships that two people can share. Once you degrade yourself in such a manner, you can never go back.
