My Personal Parlor
Only about an inch or so of wine left
The night has been productive
Boy fed, entertained, and put to bed
Homework done
Conversations had
Always sad when the wine is gone
At least there is a pint of whiskey in the drawer
Maybe I will write more of my novel
Maybe I will watch some old 70’s science fiction TV show
Maybe I will just watch some good old-fashioned Internet porn
The night is young and there is plenty to drink
Who needs company when I have an old oak desk?
Sitting behind it makes me comfortable
It gives me options
It gives me happiness
Life is good

My Personal Parlor
Only about an inch or so of wine left
The night has been productive
Boy fed, entertained, and put to
by Huckster
It's Trivial
The hours were expended;
The day had finally ended.
And what had I completed
For this vile firm conceited?
My efforts
The picture is crooked on the wall.
It is five past two and
I've been watching it since noon
It hasn't moved.
No one has straightened
Getting Off Work
One more hour to wait.
Then will be out the gate.
Waiting for customers,
Air-condi tioning blurs.
Fifty five

Office Life in Haiku
~*~
The copier jam
Like freeway Chicago traffic
It's so frustrating
My mailbox is full
Could it be money?
