Starting an effective exercise program

by Steve Lilley

In order to start an effective exercise programme, their are two key areas to look at. Firstly the programme you are going to follow needs to be specific to your goals or it will never be effective.

The other is a pyschological function. Their are four key area to look at. The first is a person who is not ready to make the change. In this I mean take up an exercise programee which means if they do they will certainly fail. The next is when they are thinking about it but not committed to the task, in this case starting an exercise programme. This Carry's a smaller chance of failure. The next is the I want to and will stage where you are in the right mindset to make a change this will increase your success rate. This means you should succeed. The final one is once you have made the change at got into a pattern of regular exercise where you are looking to maintain the programme.

Key things to remeber your support network is what will help you reach your goals. People who try and stop you from starting or maintaining your programme do so because you have achieved what they can't so by you making them feel bad, they try to wreck your progress to make them feel better. Also remember as you become more confident and look better partners can think and feel you don't like them so much and they are not as attractive to you so they may try and stop you for this reason, they may think you will run of with someone else. This shouldn't be the case.
