I would like some flowers
on my kitchen table
wildflowers from the fields
to bring summer into my house
but how much I ever wish I could
I can never pick any
I always end up in wonder
about their delicate beauty
about how they colour the world
how they gently bow their heads in the wind
how they stretch their roots
so firmly down into the soil
determined to stay in their spot
I can never bring myself
to break a stem so persistent
I enjoy them in the field
just where they like to grow
and anyone coming after me
can take pleasure in them to.

Wildflower waves and buffeting breeze
And every tear I could possibly cry
Just swallowed,

With us
As a lovely

Daisy laughed and disobeyed
