Dandelion child
stand tall
stand straight
in humble fortitude
be proud
you made it
against the odds
against the grain
no nurture
no support
only willpower brought you up
your strength of will
your strength of mind
you child of humble origin
you shine and beam
you thrive and prosper
don’t ever bow your head
whatever they say
be tough
be brave
your determination brought you here
all the way here
through cracks in the tarmac
through cracks in the ground
just keep on growing
little dandelion child.

White fluffy balls
Attached to a stem
Oh what delight they bring!
Schoolyard kids pick
Them all the time
To blow them
by Scott Scherr
The mighty dandelions
Are not meant to be restrained.
Collectively, their beauty’s fierce,
They multiply in rain.
Should
by Chrystal
So many dandelions
in her garden of life,
wheelbarrows of sorrow
seeds of ongoing strife.
Lift up your chin
oh she tried so
by Cyn Bagley
some see dandelions as weeds
but we would cut the greens
pluck the yellow heads
blow the seeds into the breeze
greens tasted
DANDELION THOUGHTS
Golden drops of sunshine
all across the fields and yard,
but even dandelions
find that life is hard
